Sadly yes Dina. It would have been great if he wrote his own lyrics but he had an awesome voice. He is the real deal and has contributed quite a lot for the growth of Ethiopian Music. SIbhat? Valid point Sami. People in other professions also deserve that. For example writer Hadis Alemyahu's and writer Bealu Girma's funerals weren't exaggerated at all which sux really. I don't think Tilahun's death was exaggerated though. He sang like 400 songs and most of them are pretty good.

Lmao Britney Spears???? My God she doesn't have a good voice at all. She doesn't even impress me with all the vocal processing the sound Engineers apply to her voice. Tilahun is a legend guys whether U like it or not. Not writing the lyrics doesn't make him sound any less good.

I think that he deserves the credit not only because he had a powerful voice but also because he somehow communicated with the people through his songs. Its not just the lyrics that ppl admire dina, it takes much to sing out the written words in such a way and influence millions.
Plus I don't think its fair to compare him with Britney Spears
